Elasta QP DPR-11 – Old vs New (Vitamin-rich organic infusion line)
First thing I notice from is that water is first on the new product list. My hair loves most products were water is listed first. Seems like they have swapped out the old eleven plant extracts and replaced then with eleven + super oils lol.
Old :- The old conditioner as I said was a lot thicker. It almost resembled the texture and consistency of butter. Felt it was a little too heavy for my hair texture and the product almost felt like it was coating the hair strands resulting in slight build up.
New:- The new conditioner is a lot lighter., it almost resembles a whipped product (mouse like). The product really absorbs into my hair and it is great for detangling (has a lot of slip) although, I never really have problems with detangling. My hair felt very silky on application and felt that way when washed out.
Smell:- Both products have the same or very similar scent I would say
Old:- I must admit this product really defined my curls when applied (clumped them together) I think this was due to the thickness of the old product weighing my hair down. Once rinsed out hair felt moisturised (still with clumped) for that day but could not feel the effects the following days. Hair didn’t look any different or feel any different. I used this product more so for the fact it defined my curls, hence why I was flaky with using it. Needed a Deep Conditioner not a Curl definer.
New:- I get the same sort of curl definition I got with the other product but my hair is not weight down. Once rinsed out hair feels moisturised and very silky (hair shaft feels smooth and hair looks shiny). Hair feels hydrated till next wash, normally once a week. I don’t experience dry/brittle feeling hair and I have noticed almost, in fact no breakage, which I was have slight issues with before. I now use this product for its deep moisturising properties and it definitely has become a staple product.
Price:- I do believe that the New DPR-11+ is the same price as the old DPR-11 around £3.39 or so
Warning! I have a very sensitive scalp and I don’t normally leave ANY conditioners in over night or for hours as my scalp is normally itching like crazy or on fire by the time I rinse it out. I don’t think the new formula is as heavily scented as the old but I still wouldn’t risk it. So if you have a sensitive scalp please use as directed, 15mins with shower cap and rinse out. Months ago I bought the new gel that Elasta QP had introduced and still have a full jar. think it was called something sculpt (must have a look for it). I’m not too sure why I only used it once. Will have to dig it out and try it on my slicked back styles as that’s what I’m rocking these days. Keep posted for a review of that and the Elasta QP feels silk liquid gel
