Blinded by Glitter: Tragic tale of woman who loses eye after encounter with glitter reminds us DIY makeup is not always a good idea

I understand how influential Youtubers and bloggers are, but can we please start to use our common sense when it comes to our health. From using blushers as eyeshadow (I see this a lot in tutorials), eyeshadow on the lips, melting crayons to make lipstick and craft glitter as eyeshadow. If a product does not explicitly say it is for your eyes DO NOT us it on your eyes. Cosmetics are formulated and test to be used on the ares of the face that they are intended for. an eyeshadow may not include certain pigments a blusher includes because it is simply not safe for the eyes. Craft glitters are designed for craft projects and not to be bought to apply near the eye. Look, I get it looks cute, but it’s cuter to be able to see *sigh*

If losing her eye wasn’t bad enough, Erica was left with no choice but to chop off her hair as the aggressive treatment used to treat her infected eye got into her tresses…LORD… I am certainly chuffed that Erica was able to remain in good homour in the eye of adversity. she wrote “It’s been a year, it’s still not right, I’m still struggling to pay for it or get the stupid insurance company to pay for it… . but while all of that is going on, I’m still happy and living life and doing my thing,” Erica said on Imgur. Despite all this, it seems she is remaining positive, declaring she now does an “AWESOME Fetty Wap impression.” got to love Fetty Wap…

Erica’s story is definitely an interesting one and one that could happen to anyone in contact with craft glitter. You can follow more of Erica’s story over on her Imgur page
